Tuesday, June 04, 2002Jagged Alliance Franchise Licensed to Strategy FirstOttawa, Canada, June 4, 2002 (Updated Oct 15, 2003) - As part of its restructuring plan, Sir-tech Canada Limited has signed an agreement with Strategy First to manage all business matters connected with the Jagged Alliance series. The series consists of Jagged Alliance 1, Deadly Games, Jagged Alliance 2, and Jagged Alliance: Unfinished Business released in 1995, 1996, 1998, and 2000 respectively. "The Jagged Alliance series has been a world-wide hit, and has had a tremendous following among end-users," said Robert Sirotek, Vice President of Sir Tech. "We did not want to leave our loyal fans of the series without ongoing support, so we entered a partnership with Strategy First to provide end-users with this service. Strategy First will provide us with access to distribution channels and bring the series under 'one roof' to permit better quality control and management of the franchise. It is always better that a franchise of this size and quality be managed from one source." "Strategy First couldn't be happier with managing Sir-tech's Jagged Alliance franchise," said Don McFatridge, President for Strategy First. "We have been fans of the franchise for years and look forward to bringing the series back into the retail channel and extending the title with future products in the years to come. For support, please visit Strategy First's English Support page or French Support page. Tuesday, October 30, 2001Sir-tech Announces Wizardry 8 Demo and Game ReleaseOttawa, CANADA, October 30, 2001 - Sirtech Canada Limited announced today that a demo of their eagerly anticipated title, Wizardry 8, is available for download … NOW! The Wizardry 8 demo features the first level of the actual Wizardry game. Players will start with a preset party since the level itself has been modified to be more advanced than the level in the full game. This was to allow players to see a greater sample of monsters and magical spells. Characters will gain levels as they play through the demo giving players the opportunity to see some elements of character development. "One thing we want to stress about the demo is that it really is just a glimpse of the game." Said Linda Currie, Project Leader. "Trying to show off the depth of Wizardry 8 in a demo is impossible. Wizardry 8 features an immersive story, many intriguing quests, vibrant characters to interact with, spread across many fantastic locations. The demo shows only a small part of all of this." In the demo, players will be able to experiment with the complete flexibility between phased and continuous combat modes, character formations and Wizardry 8's unique magic system with unique targeting characteristics that make for a combat experience exceeding anything previously seen. Characters will be able to pick locks, disarm traps and experience a small glimpse at some of the initial puzzles. Players can download the demo from 3D Gamers at http://www.3dgamers.com and FilePlanet at http://www.fileplanet.com. Wizardry 8 will be available in North America on November 15, 2001. Friday, July 7, 2000New JA2:UB Site launched! We are pleased to announce our new and improved, revamped site for Jagged Alliance 2 : Unfinished Business Article on Fatbabies.comOn June 28th, 2000, an appalling news article on Sir-tech was posted on the fatbabies.com website. They have not checked their facts. They have relied on "Rumors" within this industry and have reported them as a "Story." They have mis-characterized the corporations, its owners, and the people working at the companies. We have requested that Fatbabies.com do an immediate retraction for these falsehoods levied against Sir-tech, and also requested that this bogus news "Story" be removed from their website IMMEDIATELY. We have asked them to check their facts before they mitigate and/or fuel rumors, or even better, talk to us at Sir-tech to get the real facts. Regretfully Fatbabies.com has neither removed the bogus story, printed a retraction, or contacted us for factual information. Their inaction is indicative of their total lack of professional journalism and irresponsibility towards the betterment of the software entertainment industry. Their remarks should be ignored and treated as irrelevant.
